Giving Back

At Your NRG, we believe in supporting the local communities that we live in and serve to help make a difference. To do this, we established Project Giving Back at the beginning of 2024, which underlines the importance of working together and supporting positive change. Our initiative is to support causes, charities, and individuals in our communities who go above and beyond in what they do.
Since establishing our Project Giving Back initiative, we have received an influx of nominations naming multiple causes and charities that you have seen making a positive impact in your area. Through this initiative, we have previously donated to Medical Detection Dogs in Bedfordshire, who dedicate their work to saving lives by harnessing their medically trained dogs’ scent-detection skills to identify debilitating diseases.
This month, we’re thrilled to announce the most recent winner of our Project Giving Back Initiative; Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue!
Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue, commonly known as SULSAR, is a 100% volunteer-run charity, whereby team members assist emergency services in locating missing people. Volunteers claim no expenses and provide their own equipment to be utilised in the searches. The team receives training that prepares them for callouts, with members responding to 65 callouts in 2021 alone.
Adam Newton, our Sales Director, commented;
“We launched this charity project to give back to the local communities we serve, and we are thrilled to see such a positive response from our customers. We’re especially happy to contribute to the vital work of SULSAR, their dedication to helping our emergency services and vulnerable people is truly inspiring.”
Nick Adams, Search Technician and Executive Committee member of SULSAR, voiced his appreciation on behalf of the charity, commenting;
"At SULSAR, our team members are all volunteers, claiming no expenses and providing their own personal kit. Our team members take an active role in fundraising for the organisation to ensure we can continue to serve the people of Suffolk and surrounding counties.
This donation will allow our volunteers to continue the good work they undertake helping the emergency services find missing vulnerable adults and children by helping us with running costs and purchasing vital life-saving equipment.
Thank you to everyone who voted for us and to Your NRG for the kind donation!"
We are also incredibly grateful for the abundance of nominations we have received and continue to receive, as well as your ongoing support. The passion for Project Giving Back highlights many deserving causes while also illuminating the integral role of those working within our communities.
Thanks to your nominations and support, we’ve identified and shortlisted causes, charities, individuals, and organisations who work for the betterment of others. Medical Detection Dogs and SULSAR are just the tip of the iceberg for Project Giving Back. To amplify the positive effects of our initiative, we invite and encourage you to continue helping us to support these incredible causes by nominating them for Project Giving Back. Together, we can make a difference, together we can fuel positive change and the future. You can find out more about Project Giving Back and make a nomination here.
