Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Traffic Operator at Your NRG's Hartlepool depot. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of transport operations, including coordinating driver activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and assisting with vehicle maintenance and administration.

This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career within a growing company and play a key part in the success of a leading UK fuel distributor.

The role will involve:

  • Implementation of our Health, Safety & Environment policies
  • Scheduling all regional fleet maintenance
  • Ensuring all depot facility maintenance is completed as instructed
  • Managing all daily driver activities
  • Conducting driver briefing and de-briefing
  • Administering and implementing vehicle defect rectification in line with legal requirements
  • Providing out-of-hours backup support as part of a roster
  • Overseeing driver compliance
  • Providing Traffic Office support, including planning and administration functions
  • Acting as a conduit between regional drivers and central functions
  • Handling transport office calls, including vehicle breakdown recovery and all driver-related enquiries

Demonstrable Competencies:

  • Strong planning skills and project management expertise
  • Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure
  • Proficiency in IT systems and data analysis for effective management reporting
  • Effective communication and stakeholder collaboration
  • Ability to motivate and engage team members in understanding best practices and compliance with all regulatory and company requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulatory compliance, law, and safety standards
  • Conflict resolution and team harmony maintenance

Behaviours & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a transport operation, preferably within the liquid fuel distribution sector
  • CPC in Transport Management qualification preferred
  • Level 3 Supervisory Management (ILM or CMI) is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental policies
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to achieving targets
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach
  • Adaptable and quick to learn new processes and technologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and reporting tools
